Everything people ask us

Short answers to the questions that come up most. Not here? Write to us at the bottom of the page.

Does Master Splitter cost anything?

No. Everything — expenses, balances, the shopping list, tasks and reports — is free, with no trial period and no credit card.

Do you read every message in my WhatsApp group?

No. The service examines messages in the group you connected in order to identify expenses. A message identified as an expense may be stored alongside the expense record, but unrelated conversation is not kept as chat history. The full detail is in the Privacy Policy.

Can I use it without connecting WhatsApp at all?

Absolutely. Connecting WhatsApp is a shortcut, not a requirement. You can add any expense by hand, or photograph a receipt and let the app fill in the details.

Does the app move money or connect to my bank?

No, deliberately. Master Splitter is not a banking service, never touches card details and never transfers money. It works out who owes whom; the actual payment happens by bank transfer, a payment app or cash.

How do I invite the rest of the group?

On the Group screen you generate an invite code or link and send it over WhatsApp. Anyone who taps the link lands straight in the right group.

Which devices does it work on?

Any modern browser, as an installed app on Android, iPhone and desktop, and as an App Store app on iPhone and iPad. Every way to install it.

Does everyone in the group have to sign up?

Not strictly, but it helps. Expenses written in the WhatsApp group are picked up either way, but only people who signed up see their own balance and get notifications.

What happens when someone pays me back?

You mark it as received, or send a repayment request for the other person to confirm — and the balance updates for everyone. The request can also go out as a ready-made WhatsApp message.

Which languages is the app available in?

Hebrew, English, Arabic and Russian, with full right-to-left support.

Can I delete my account and my data?

Yes, from Settings → Delete account. The expenses you recorded stay in the group without your name so other people's balances don't change, and an account with an open debt or credit cannot be deleted. The detail is in the Terms of Use.
